Peppercorns Play Space

Client: City of Greater Bendigo      Status: Opened January 2015      Category: Play Space Design, Urban Environments

This local scale play space was envisaged as a “play trail” set into a linear park with many established peppercorn trees.

A combination of custom proprietary equipment, simple dark red and grey colour scheme and extensive use of natural timber have created a play space that sits gently in its park environment.

A fort was situated on a hill constructed from excess fill allowing distant views. A small dirt track built into a natural depression has proven very popular with the local kids who requested it during consultation. A concrete four square court allows for active social games for older children.

The design for the Peppercorns Play Space was completed by Justine Image as an employee of the City of Greater Bendigo.
