A group of Rochester residents came together under the auspices of the Rochester Business Network to bring a natural play space to the town.
They were seeking a space that would provide a stimulating environment for the town’s children, providng cognitive, physical and social play opportunities in a natural setting. The space also needed some protection from the intense heat and sun of northern Victoria.
The plan proposed a space that would become a significant place within the town, connecting with local indigenous and European history and one that allows children the freedom to explore safely.
The journey to construction was a long one, but through the continued perserverance of the committee a unique place was created.
